Our Global Participation

Mainstreaming youth participation in decision making process is one of our priority agenda. Audacious Dreams has an extensive experience in the field of global policy making process whereas it has participated in many global events, policy forums, ministerial meetings, heads of government meetings etc. We would like to create a lifetime opportunity for young participants & institutions to engage in various real-time decision making process which influences global policies.

Our global participations include:

1. Asia regional representative at CYSDP.



Our Catalyst and Executive Director Mr. Dinesh Gajendran has been served as Asia Regional representative for Commonwealth Youth Sports for Development and Peace (CYSDP) from 2014 – 2016. The Commonwealth Youth Sport for Development and Peace Working Group is a small group of young practitioners in the field of Sport for Development and Peace (SDP). It was established in 2013 with the support of the Youth Division of the Commonwealth Secretariat. The CYSDP has three main strategic themes, which are to ‘Advocate, Educate and Demonstrate’ to their peers the benefits of using sport as a tool for development.

2. Asia Regional Representative, Commonwealth Students Association (CSA).



Our Director has been served as a Asia Regional Representative for Commonwealth Students Association (CSA) from 2014 to 2016. The Commonwealth Students Association (CSA) unifies and represents the needs and aspirations of national student councils and other student organisations in the Commonwealth. The Association was launched in 2012 at the 18th Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers (18CCEM) in Mauritius, where student leaders gathered to make recommendations on the current issues in education and strengthen their role in the Commonwealth education sector. The main aims of the Commonwealth Students Association are ‘to promote unity among student organisations in Commonwealth countries; to protect the rights of Commonwealth students and to contribute actively to the development of student movements; and to create an environment for student unions and student movements to build their respective and collective capacities, to freely express and advocate.

3. Global ambassador for A world at School



A World at School formed in 2013, A World at School is a diverse movement of youth, business leaders, influential individuals; NGOs, faith groups, and media aimed at making sure all children receive a quality education, which is safe and free from discrimination. In recent years, millions of individuals, including more than 250 organisations, have joined forces and become part of the global movement to support the cause. Our catalyst and Executive Director Mr. Dinesh Gajendran has been appointed as Global Ambassador for A World at School campaign who has been involved in various education activities towards the development of grassroots young people.

4. Annual General Body Meeting, Commonwealth Sports Ministers Meeting (CSMM) at Glasgow during 20th Commonwealth Games held at Glasgow during 2014



The 7th Commonwealth Sports Minister Meeting (7CSMM) was held in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom on 21st July 2014. Delegations from 45 member countries attended the meeting. The meeting was opened by Commonwealth Secretary-General, HE Kamalesh Sharma, and chaired on behalf of the United Kingdom by Ms Shona Robison MSP, Minister for the Commonwealth Games and Sport, Scottish Government. In acknowledging the important role that sport plays in contributing to a shared identity in the Commonwealth, the meeting focused on the positive impact sport can make across the wide development agenda shared by Commonwealth members. The meeting also considered ways to protect the integrity of sport, to ensure that its full potential can be harnessed for positive social and economic outcomes. Our catalyst and Executive Director has been represented India in this high level meeting.

5. Contributed and published Commonwealth Youth Advocacy Toolkit

Audacious Dreams and our Executive Director Mr. Dinesh Gajendran has supported and worked to develop the Commonwealth Youth Advocacy Toolkit on Sports for Development and Peace. This toolkit has been developed by the CYSDP as a resource for young people who are promoting Sport for Development and Peace in the Commonwealth. The purpose of this toolkit is to provide young people with the skills and tools to become advocates of SDP, and enhance their ability to create awareness and influence decision-making. By highlighting different approaches, case studies and examples of best practice, this toolkit will help young people identify challenges in their own communities, and use the information and resources provided to develop advocacy strategies that exemplify how SDP can address these challenges.

6. Commonwealth Sports and Post 2015 Forum in London – Demonstrated the contribution of Sports in Post 2015 agenda



Commonwealth Sport & Post-2015 Forum, bringing together policy-makers, practitioners and academics, to boost awareness of, and identify strategies for, the use of sport to achieve the post-2015 sustainable development agenda. The Forum, taking place between 25-26 June 2015 at the world renowned Wembley Stadium in London, looks at how sport policy priorities and funding choices by governments and international organisations may be affected by the new SDGS, which are set to come into force in 2016. Speaking ahead of the Forum, the Chair of CABOS, Louise Martin CBE, issued a statement reiterating the body’s strong belief that sport can contribute to SDGs related to promoting healthy lives, education, gender equality, peaceful and inclusive societies, innovation, growth and employment. 7. Youth Forum - Asia Region Youth Ministers meeting 2015



The meeting is convened by the Commonwealth Secretariat and hosted by the Government of India, under the theme ‘Youth Participation at the heart of sustainable development’. It brings together Ministers with responsibility for youth affairs, senior government officials and youth representatives from Commonwealth countries in Asia. During the meeting, delegates will focus on youth development challenges and opportunities, including new global development goals for 2015 and beyond. Delegates will take stock of current trends in youth development in Asia and identify strategies and priorities for future action to advance youth empowerment in the Commonwealth. The meeting incorporates a Youth Leaders’ Forum, managed by the Commonwealth Youth Council in conjunction with regional youth platforms in Asia.

8. India Sri Lanka Youth Exchange Forum 2015, 2016 & 2017



We the Audacious Dreams Foundation, India in association with National Youth Services Council (NYSC), Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, Govt. of Sri Lanka jointly hosted India-Sri Lanka Youth Exchange (ISYE) Programme held in Sri Lanka during July 2015 & September 2016 and in India during August 2015 & July 2016 in Sri Lanka. We feel great organize the ISYE 2017 series during August / September 2017 in association with NYSC, Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, Govt. of Sri Lanka. Extending an opportunity to invite your students to participate in the ISYE programme which is to be held in July/Aug 2017 in Sri Lanka (exact Dates will be announced shortly).
We believe this GUSD programme India-Sri Lanka Youth Exchange 2017 will give an opportunity to unleash the potential of our India-Sri Lanka youth to empower themselves and community around them. This GUSD visit help our fellow youth to create peace talks, civic responsibility, culture understanding, policy exchange, Management skills, communication, rich diverse experience, field visits etc. We see opportunity for youth to develop and engage with societal issues to be a part of new generation change agent

9. Addressed at National Parliament of Youth in Sri Lanka (Our Catalyst & Executive Director is the 1st Indian & 2nd Foreigner after Her Excellency Ms. Navi Pillay, The United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights).



Dinesh Gajendran, Cataclyst and Executive Director of Audacious Dreams Foundation has been invited to address the Youth Parliamentarians elected from all the provinces of Sri Lanka during the Sri Lanka Youth Parliament sessions held at National Youth Services Council (NYSC) premises, Maharagama hosted by Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, Govt. of Sri Lanka. Dinesh is the first ever Indian and 2nd Foreigner who addressed the Sri Lanka Youth Parliament after Her Excellency Ms. Navi Pillay, The Former United Nations High Commissioner of Human Rights

10. Diplomatic Dialogue with Hon. Niroshan Perara, Ministry of National Policies & Economic Affairs, Govt. of Sri Lanka



Our youth representatives and India Sri Lanka Youth Exchange – Indian delegates had a Diplomatic dialogue with Hon. Niroshan Perara, Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, Govt. of Sri Lanka during the India Sri Lanka Youth Exchange 2016. They had dialogued about National Policies on Youth; Youth focus national initiatives, child welfare and education, Economic development and Youth contribution on sustainable development.

11. Gov. of Sri Lanka’s President’s house official visit in Sri Lanka



We have been organizing India Sri Lanka Youth Exchange programme since 2015 in association with National Youth Services Council (NYSC), Ministry of National Policies and Economic Affairs, Govt. of Sri Lanka. The programme comprised of Youth Forum, Cultural Forum, High level meetings, Dialogue etc. In our 2016 India Sri Lanka Youth Exchange we have invited to visit Presidents house as a official guest. Our youth representatives had visited Govt. of Sri Lanka’s President’s house.

12. Worked as a T4T trainer with The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme for Asia region’s training, Communication & Research.



Audacious Dreams working with Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award since 2007 with the main focus of grassroots youth development and involved in various training and development process of the programme in various parts of the country and around the world. Because of the greater involvement our Executive Director has been invited as T4T trainer for the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award programme – Asia region’s communication, Research & Training.

13. Invited as a Speaker at #Youth for Change – Girl Summit 2014, London and historical event hosted by Mr. David Cameroon and UNICEF







Girl Summit 2014 hosted by the United Nations Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) and Government of United Kingdom (UK) in July 2014 at London to built partnerships and galvanized the global movements to end Female Genital Mutilation/Cutting (FGM/C) and Child, Early and Forced Marriage (CEFM). Our Catalyst and Executive Director Mr. Dinesh Gajendran and our Youth Panelist Ms. Kezlin Dharshini were selected as a Youth panel Speakers in this historical Girls summit 2014. The Girls Summit honored the great people and achievers in the world such as Frieda pinto, His Excellency Hon. Prime Minister of UK Mr. David Cameron, Malala Yousufsai, Desmond, UNICEF and UK parliamentarians, UN Women, Government of Nepal, Pakistan, India, New Zealand, Bangladesh, and such other organizations.

14. Hosted Adolescent Youth consultation to frame National Policies for UNICEF (2018-22) in India

United Nations Children Emergency Fund (UNICEF) has organized a Adolescent Youth Consultation with the purpose of involve and consult with adolescents in a meaningful way in the preparatory phase of upcoming UNICEF Country Programme 2018-2022, specifically in setting the agenda for adolescent programming in a manner that engages them more directly. Audacious Dreams has been invited to host a regional consultation in Chennai for the Southern states of India. Youth representatives from Tamilnadu and Kerala have been invited to participate in this consultation. Ms. Anahit Minassian, UNICEF’s international expert on Youth participation and engagement represented UNICEF in this consultation.

15. Participated in United Nations Women Youth Dialogue with Her Excellency Ms.Lakshmi Puri, United Nations Assistant Secretary General and Deputy Director of UN Women.

Audacious Dreams invited to represent rural south India in the United Nations Women Youth Dialogue with Her Excellency Ms. Lakshmi Puri, United Nations Assistant Secretary General and the Deputy Director of United Nations Women. Everyone addressed with the key challenges of women empowerment in the early 21st century, such as Child marriage, inequality, Child abuse & harassment. Women’s empowerment is recognized as a pre-condition to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the core of the 2030 Agenda. The SDGs include a transformative stand-alone goal on gender equality and women’s rights (Goal 5) that addresses structural barriers to women’s empowerment, along with important targets on gender equality in other Goals.

16. Represented India & Youth in United Nations High Level Meeting, New York, USA

Mr. Dinesh Gajendran Catalyst and Founder of Audacious Dreams Foundation Represented India and The Duke Of Edinburgh's Award International Association in The United Nations High Level Meeting on Youth at General Assembly of United Nations, UN Headquarters, New york, USA. As part of the International Year of Youth, the General Assembly organized a high-level meeting on youth on 25 and 26 July 2011. The High Level Meeting has as its overarching theme “Youth: Dialogue and Mutual Understanding”. This high level meeting comprised of two consecutive informal interactive thematic panel discussions. Our Catalyst and Executive Director Mr. Dinesh Gajendran was in the one of the discussion panel for strengthening international cooperation regarding youth and enhancing dialogue, mutual understanding and active youth participation as indispensable elements towards achieving social integration, full employment and the eradication of poverty and also there was the discussion on Challenges to youth development and opportunities for poverty eradication, employment and sustainable development.

17. Represented India in the Beyond Sports Summit & Awards, Chicago, USA

Beyond Sports awards and celebrates which celebrates the world’s most inspirational projects and organisations using sport to address social issues from around the globe and support, raise awareness and provide funding for ways sport is being used to help make the Global Goals for sustainable development a reality. Our Sports for Development initiative has been shortlisted as Best Entered Project for the Beyond Sports Awards & Summit, Chicago, USA. 18. Youth Representative for Youth Leadership consultation of United Nations Economic and Social Commission in Asia & the Pacific (UNESCAP) to frame the Network of Emerging leaders in Asia and the Pacific (NELAP), Bangkok

Dinesh Gajendran, Catalyst and Executive Director has been invited as a Youth Representative and to represent The Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award association for the Youth Leadership consultation of United Nations Economic and Social commission in Asia & the Pacific (UNESCAP) to frame the Network of Emerging leaders in Asia & the Pacific region (NELAP). This consultation was held at Bangkok, Thailand.

19. Recognized as Young Professional in the Rotary International Group Study Exchange at Germany

Our catalyst and Executive Director has been recognized as Young Professional in Germany during the Rotary International Group Study Exchange (GSE) programme. Rotary International is an international service organization whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian services, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations, and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a non-political and non-sectarian organization open to all people regardless of race, color, creed, religion, gender, or political preference.

20. Participate in the Rotary International Group Study Exchange at Germany.

The Rotary Foundation’s GSE program is a unique cultural & vocational exchange opportunity providing the platform to explore the countries for professionals. The team from Rotary International District 3230 traveled to Rotary International District 1880. Rotary District 3230 is situated in South India comprising of five revenue districts Chennai, Kanchipuram, Thiruvallur, Vellore and Thiruvannamalai. 21. Recognized as Community Hero by the Great British Sports Festival with British Deputy High Commission.

Abhinav Bindra Foundation, Slum Soccer NGO and the British Deputy High Commission in Chennai organized a British sports festival with the aim to inspire under-privileged children through sport. Our catalyst and Executive Director Mr. Dinesh Gajendran has been honored as Community hero by the Abhinav Bindra Foundation with British Deputy High Commission.

22. Youth Good Ambassador for Sri Lanka United Nations Friendship Organization (SUNFO)

Sri Lanka United Nations Friendship Organization (SUNFO) is the nonprofit organization which promoting Peace, Economic Development, Environment, Drug Control, Health, Culture & Arts, Peace, Harmony & Non Violence, Child Welfare, Youth Development, Citizens Services. Our catalyst and Executive Director has been honored as Youth Goodwill ambassador for SUNFO.

23. India – Mauritius Youth Exchange

Mr.Dinesh Gajendran-Catalyst and Executive Director of Audacious Dreams Foundation had been served as youth coordinator and represented India in the Indo-Mauritius gold awardees youth exchange in 2007 with Team leader Mr.Anantha Narayanan (IGE 2005). The gold awardees from Mauritius had done their residential project in Thiruvannamalai for one week. 15 youths were participated in this exchange programme from Mauritius. The first day of the exchange programme, the participants were met the South Zone Authority Members of International Award for Young People. In their residential project they had camp at the forest region of Thiruvannamalai (Javvadhu Hills). They created the awareness among the tribal people stayed in that hills and also planted trees in the forest. They participants went for trekking in the hills. The night camps had a camp fire and every day they had discussed about the whole day experience with everyone. After discussion they had fun part with music and dance in the camp fire.

24. India – UK Friendship Forum

We have organized a India – UK Friendship forum Ms.Katy Robinson, The communications manager of The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award had been to our Foundation and took part in various community development activities, inter cultural exchanges, mutual dialogue, arts and cultural visits etc.

26. Contributed to the consultation on Asia Pacific Youth Policies & Programme in the SAARC youth charter.

Dinesh Gajendran has participated in the consultation on Youth Policies and Programme of Asia and Pacific Countries organised by Rajiv Gandhi National Instiute of Youth Development(RGNIYD),Ministry of Youth and Sports, Govt of India. The Gathering of policy experts from various nations had a consultation about the youth policy, programme in their respective countries and also shared the best practices applied in the nation.

27. Represented India in the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Youth camp

Dinesh Gajendran, Catalyst and Executive Director, Audacious Dreams Foundation(ADF), has represented India in the 4th SAARC youth camp held at Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development(RGNIYD) organised by Govt of India in association with SAARC secretariat, Youth delegation from 8 countries has attended the SAARC Youth camp. The camp has diversified youth gathering sharing the arts, culture of each countries.



28. Speaker at Asia Youth Leaders’ Summit by British Council & Commonwealth Youth Programme



Dinesh Gajendran, Catalyst and Executive Director, Audacious Dreams Foundation(ADF), has represented India in the Asia Youth Leaders Summit(AYLS), organised by British Council, Commonwealth Youth Programme, Asia Region and Govt of India held at New Delhi. Dinesh had been invited to speak on Youth Development and his initiatives at grassroot level.

29. Represented as a Indian delegate in the South Asian Youth Conference

Dinesh Gajendran, Catalyst and Executive Director, Audacious Dreams Foundation(ADF), has represented Indiain the South Asian Youth Conference organised by Blue Ribbon Movement and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

30. Represented youth voices in the Global Citizens Youth Assembly (GYCA)

Organised by Global Citizens for Sustainble Development(GCSD)
Audacious Dreams Foundation participated in the GCYA with group of youth delegation selected from India and especially students and youth from rural part of India has been selcted by ADF. The team from ADF has won the Social Impact Awards for thier participation an dproject presentation regarding Millenium Development Goals.

31. Participated & Represented India in the South Asia Youth Peace Camp

Dinesh Gajendran has been recognised has Youth Goodwill Ambassador for India-Srilanka and he has been invited to participate in the South Asia Youth Peace camp hel at Srilanka. He served the camp as part of the organising committee. The camp has brough together the Young people, ngos, youth workers, Ambassadors, High Commissioners from across south asia and Ministers from Srilanka
